Welcome to my website

  1.

Hello. My name is Joanna and I'm a UKCP registered psychotherapist (registration no. 2011172263).  I am currently offering therapy online or by phone.

How can I help you?

If you are reading this you are probably considering therapy for yourself, or for someone else.  Some of the issues that bring people into therapy include:

Depression / low mood

Anxiety

Panic

Overcoming shyness

Bereavement / loss

Psychiatric drug withdrawal

Trauma

Unsatisfactory relationships

Sex addiction

Anger

Stress including PTSD

Abuse

Challenging unhelpful thoughts

Changing unhelpful behaviours

Isolation

Low self-esteem

Self-harm

Suicidal feelings

You may identify with some of the above, or you may simply want to talk.  Whatever your reason for considering therapy, I will be happy to hear from you and we can work out, together, what you need.

Please note:  If you believe you are in crisis right now, visit www.befrienders.org to find the Samaritans number for your area, and access their free, round the clock, support.

What Happens When You Contact Me?

When I receive your email or voicemail, I will respond as promptly as possible.  I usually suggest a brief phone call so that you can give me an overview of what is troubling you.  This also gives you an opportunity to ask me any questions you may have.  If I think I can help, and if you would like to go ahead, we will arrange an online session.

During this initial session we can explore your reasons for seeking help more fully.  We will also begin to get a sense of what it might be like to work together.  It is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist so we will also think about whether I am the right therapist for you.

This initial session will cost £35 and you are free of any further obligation.  If we decide to work together, future sessions will cost £75.

As we work together I will check in with you, periodically, for a joint review of how we are doing.  As we make progress, we will also start to think about how, and when, we might end our time together.
